Diamond Anniversary Celebrations at RiverWoods

When Judy saw Bob across the room she leaned over to a friend and said, “I’m going to marry him.” 60 years later they are still happily married. Judy and Bob are one of nearly twelve couples at RiverWoods Manchester who are celebrating 60 years of marriage in the coming months.

In today’s culture, it can be rare to see people stay married so long, so we asked a group of them what the secret is – the responses were serious, comedic, and very cute.

The answers ranged from knowing “she is right” to absolute trust and respect, sharing the same interests, having similar goals and values, and just being awfully lucky. Many of these couples knew right away their interest would be their spouse. None of them would do a thing differently with respect to the choice of a life mate.

We know that healthy relationships are a key to living healthy, longer lives and these couples continue to thrive along with the new friendships they are cultivating in the community at RiverWoods.
