Introducing Daniel Muser

When exploring a Retirement Community like RiverWoods, the options for dining should tie together a few aspects of overall wellness. From the healthy, seasonal meals to the socialization during mealtime to the opportunity to provide feedback about the fare.

Daniel Muser is RiverWoods’ new Director of Dining and someone who truly understands how to balance the expanding dietary needs and changing palette of today’s seniors. Foodservice and catering are in his blood. His father owned a catering company and was also a food service director, so he knew his way around a kitchen at an early age.

Following school, Daniel worked for several years catering and cooking at different country clubs, and restaurants. He took his career to Las Vegas to fine-tune his cooking skills and to improve his volume cooking ability within a few different hotels & at the Las Vegas Convention Center. When he returned to New England, Daniel continued working for Aramark at Fenway Park with the Boston Red Sox. In 2004, his next career move was opening a senior living community and learning a new direction in culinary including expanded styles of cooking with more focus on nutrition.

Daniel’s goals for the Culinary team at RiverWoods Manchester include:

  • Creating several gluten-free menu items and more options for any residents or guests with celiac and gluten sensitivity diets.
  • Expanding the menu variety for all levels of living. Daniel hosts feedback forums where he and the team welcome input and conversation about foods to craft crowd-pleasing menus.
  • More theme meals and events fostering overall engagement, fun, and socialization with meals.

Daniel shares, “I am excited about the possibilities of working with new residents and staff toward a common goal of blending culinary and community.”
